William Kent, Senior Art Director
William has worked in the advertising end of design and illustration for over 25 years, beginning with his education at California Polytechnic University in central California.
Specializing in art direction and custom typography, William first worked as an in-house designer for several large companies before landing his first agency job in Los Angeles, working for real estate developers across the southland, and picking up several print design awards in the process.
In 1988, he began working as an independent art director and acquired clients such as Channel One Network, Fuji Printing Co., Landor Associates, Los Angeles Opera, The Los Angeles Philharmonic. Spelling Communications and Time-Life Video/Music, creating marketing pieces, print advertising, poster art and CD cover/video box design. He has art-directed photo shoots and supervised design staff.
William has also taught Typography and Graphic Design at Woodbury University in Burbank, California. He is a member of the Society Of Illustrators of Los Angeles, the Illustrators’ Partnership of America and the Graphic Artist’s Guild.
He is a Certified Grumbacher Art Instructor, and continues to explore fine art through his paintings in acrylic and watercolor. Many of his works are in private collections. On a sunny day, you may find him tending his outdoor garden, or near the Pacific Coast, where he is likely to be painting, without a cellphone.
